Descripció modifica
Reproducció modifica
És monògam[5][6] i pot produir híbrids amb Acanthurus achilles.[3][7]
Alimentació modifica
Hàbitat modifica
És un peix marí, associat als esculls[8] i de clima tropical (21 °C-29 °C; 30°N-24°S) que viu entre 1 i 67 m de fondària (normalment, entre 2 i 67).[3][9][10]
Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba a l'est de l'Índic (l'illa Christmas) i el Pacífic (des de les illes Ryukyu i la Gran Barrera de Corall fins a les illes Hawaii[11] i la Polinèsia Francesa). També és present a les illes Revillagigedo, l'illa del Coco, les illes Galápagos[12] i la costa pacífica de Mèxic.[13][3][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41]
Costums modifica
