Morfologia modifica

Reproducció modifica

És ovípar[3] i les femelles ponen càpsules d'ous, les quals presenten com unes banyes a la closca.[5]

Alimentació modifica

Menja animals bentònics.[6]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes que viu entre 140-2.500 m de fondària.[3][7]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba a Austràlia, el Canadà, Colòmbia, Costa Rica, l'Equador, les illes Fèroe, Groenlàndia, Islàndia, Nova Zelanda, Noruega (incloent-hi Svalbard), Panamà, Rússia, Sud-àfrica i la Gran Bretanya.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27]

Costums modifica

És bentònic.[28]
