Morfologia modifica
Alimentació modifica
Menja invertebrats de closca dura.[2]
Hàbitat modifica
És un peix marí, de clima subtropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 20-100 m de fondària.[2][3]
Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba a l'Atlàntic oriental (des de Portugal fins a Namíbia, incloent-hi Madeira), l'Atlàntic occidental (Bermuda i les Índies Occidentals), l'oest de l'Índic (Reunió i Maurici),[4] l'Índic oriental (Indonèsia[5] i el nord-oest d'Austràlia)[6] i el Pacífic oriental (Hawaii i des de Califòrnia fins a Xile).[7][2][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]
