Morfologia modifica

Alimentació modifica

Els adults mengen principalment mol·luscs i poliquets.[4]

Depredadors modifica

És depredat per Platycephalus speculator, Pelecanus conspicillatus, Phalacrocorax carbo, Phalacrocorax melanoleucos i Phalacrocorax varius.[5][6]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix demersal i de clima temperat que viu fins als 30 m de fondària.[3]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

És un endemisme d'Austràlia.[3][7][8][9][10]

Longevitat modifica

Pot arribar a viure 13 anys.[4]

Observacions modifica

La presència d'espines esmolades a les aletes dorsal i pectoral poden infligir ferides doloroses.[11]
