Crapatalus
Crapatalus és un gènere de peixos marins de la família dels leptoscòpids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[1]

Etimologia modifica
Crapatalus deriva del mot grec krapatalos, -on (una moneda imaginària de la mitologia grega emprada a l'infern).[2]
Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba a l'Índic[3] oriental (des de Nova Gal·les del Sud fins a Tasmània,[4] el sud de Victòria i Austràlia Occidental[5] a Austràlia, incloent-hi l'estret de Bass)[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] i el Pacífic[16] sud-occidental (Nova Zelanda).[17][18][19][20][21]
