Creèdids

Els creèdids (Creediidae) constitueixen una família de peixos marins pertanyent a l'ordre dels perciformes.[1] Nelson[2] va revisar aquesta família i va incloure Limnichthyidae com a sinònim de Creediidae, essent el gènere Squamicreedia assignat posteriorment als percòfids. Més endavant, Nelson[3] va examinar les relacions dins de la família i n'estudià els gèneres australians.[4]

Etimologia modifica

Del grec kreas, kreesi (carn).[5]

Descripció modifica

Cos allargat, una mica comprimit, recobert o no d'escates cicloides i amb una llargada màxima de 8 cm. Línia lateral en procés descendent fins a arribar a la base de l'aleta caudal i, sovint, amb les escates presentant extensions posteriors de tres lòbuls (llevat de les escates més anteriors). Algunes espècies no tenen escates, tret de les de la línia lateral que hi són sempre presents. Cap si fa no fa tan allargat com la llargària de les aletes pectorals. Ulls de posició alta i una mica prominents, d'una manera semblant als d'un camaleó. Boca terminal i amb una filera d'apèndixs mòbils a la mandíbula inferior. Musell carnós i depassant la mandíbula inferior. 1 única aleta dorsal amb 12-43 radis tous no ramificats. Aleta anal una mica més grossa que la base de la dorsal. Aletes pectorals relativament grans, assolint la vertical que passa per l'origen de les aletes dorsal i anal. Aletes ventrals, quan hi són presents, amb una espina i 3-5 radis tous; espai interpelvià força curt. Aletes pelvianes molt a prop l'una de l'altra. 7 radis branquiòstegs. Os de l'opercle molt estellat. Plec de la còrnia a on es troben la pell i la còrnia.[6][7]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica modifica

Algunes espècies estan associades als esculls rocallosos o de corall, mentre que d'altres són comunes a les platges sorrenques dels hàbitats costaners, al voltant dels 50 m de fondària[8] de l'Índic[9] i el Pacífic occidental[10][11] (les àrees temperades i tropicals des del nord del mar Roig -el golf d'Àqaba a Egipte i Israel-,[12] [13][14] Sud-àfrica,[15] Moçambic,[16][17][18][19] i les illes Txagos,[20][21] de la Reunió[22][23] Seychelles,[24][25][26][27] Cocos[28][29] i Christmas[30][31][32] fins al Japó[33][34][35][36] -incloent-hi les illes Ogasawara,[37][38][39] Ryukyu,[40] Tokara i Yaeyama-,[41] la Xina,[42][43] Taiwan,[44][45][46][47][48] el Vietnam,[49][50] Indonèsia,[51][52][53][54] les illes Filipines,[51][55][56] Papua Nova Guinea,[57][58] Austràlia[51][59][60][61][62][63][64][65] -incloent-hi les illes Lord Howe[66][67] i Norfolk[66][68][69]-, Nova Caledònia,[70] Nova Zelanda[71][72][73][74][75] -incloent-hi les illes Kermadec[66][68][76]- i les illes Mariannes,[28] Guam,[77][78] Palau,[28][79] Loyauté -l'atol d'Ouvéa-,[80] Cook,[81] Fiji -Rotuma-,[82][83] Hawaii,[84][85] Marshall,[86][87] Samoa,[88][89] Tonga,[90][91] Tuamotu,[86][92] Pitcairn[86][93] i de Pasqua).[94][95][96][6][97][98] La seua presència a l'Índia sembla poc probable.[99][100][101]

Estat de conservació modifica

Apodocreedia vanderhorsti[122] i Chalixodytes tauensis[123] en són les úniques espècies que apareixen a la Llista Vermella de la UICN. A. vanderhorsti es veu afectada, sobretot, per la contaminació de l'aigua, el desenvolupament costaner i la seua captura incidental en la pesca de gambes.[124][125]

Observacions modifica

S'enterren a la sorra[8] i no formen part del comerç internacional de peixos ornamentals.[7]
