Hàbitat modifica
És un peix marí de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu fins als 32 m de fondària.[2][5]
Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba des del Mar Roig i l'Àfrica Oriental[6][7] fins a les Filipines, Taiwan,[8] Papua Nova Guinea,[9] Austràlia,[10] Nova Caledònia,[11] Vanuatu, Fiji, Salomó i la Samoa Nord-americana.[2][12][13][14][15][16]
