Reproducció modifica
És ovípar[6] i les femelles ponen càpsules d'ous, les quals presenten com unes banyes a la closca.[7]
Hàbitat modifica
És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes que viu entre 400–1000 m de fondària.[8][9]
Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba a l'oceà Atlàntic occidental central: des de Florida (els Estats Units) i el Golf de Mèxic fins a Nicaragua.[8][10][11]
