To survive the temporary ponds of pre-Jurassic Pangaea, they can survive in diapause for 20 years without water. Strangely, they also love to eat carrots. I guess that’s similar to cats eating tuna.

Incorrect information.

This species comes from the Cretaceous-Maastrichtian period not Devonian.

Triops longicaudatus fossil record is only ~70 million years old. Author is misquoting wrong information on web sites. Triops cancriformis is from the Devonian period.
