Morfologia modifica

Reproducció modifica

És ovípar amb larves i ous planctònics.[6]

Alimentació modifica

Els adults mengen Sagitta, peixets, copèpodes i eufausiacis.[7]

Depredadors modifica

Als Estats Units és depredat per Thunnus alalunga[8] i Sebastes entomelas.[9][10]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes que viu entre 20-1.095 m de fondària.[4][7]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba al nord-est del Pacífic: des de la Colúmbia Britànica[11] (Canadà) fins a la Península de Baixa Califòrnia (Mèxic).[4][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19]
