És un peix d'aigua dolça, pelàgic i de clima tropical (18°N-14°N).[3]
Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba a Àsia: és una espècie de peix endèmica del llac Taal[4][5][6][7][8] (Luzon, Filipines).[9][3]

Es comercialitza fresc o assecat.[6]
