Edward Frederick Lindley Wood, 1r Comte de Halifax, (1881 – 1959), conegut com a Lord Irwin des de 1925 fins a 1934 i com a Vescomte Halifax des de 1934 fins a 1944, durant la dècada de 1930, va ser un polític britànic que pertanyia al Partit Conservador. També va ser virrei d'Índia (Viceroy of India) des de 1925 a 1931 i Secretari d'Estat per Afers Estrangers entre 1938 i 1940. És considerat com un dels arquitectes de la política d'apaivagament anterior a la Segona Guerra Mundial durant la qual va exercir d'ambaixador britànic a Washington DC.
