Es troba a [[Europa]]: llacs [[llac de Como|Como]], [[llac de Garda|Garda]], [[llac d'Orta|Orta]], [[llac Maggiore|Maggiore]], [[llac de Lugano|Lugano]] i [[llac d'Iseo|Iseo]] (nord d'[[geografia d'Itàlia|Itàlia]] i [[Suïssa]]). Ha estat introduït als llacs [[llac de Bolsena|Bolsena]], [[llac de Bracciano|Bracciano]] i [[llac de Vico|Vico]] ([[geografia d'Itàlia|Itàlia]] central).<ref name="FishBase" />
