L''''''Artémise''''' fóu una [[fragata]] de la [[fragata de la classe Magiciene|classe ''Magicienne'']] de l'[[Armada Francesa]].
No va adoptar el nom d'Artémise fins el setembre del 1794. Abans, als seus inicis, quan s'estava construÏnt a Toló, s'anomenà ''Aurore'', però els Britànics prenen la ciutat. No és fins el 24 de juliol del 1794 que els francesos la recapturen i reprenen la seva construcció que en canvien el nom.
 
El 23 de juny del 1795 es trobava navegant amb la [[fragata francesa (1794)|''Minerve'']], fragata de 40 canons, quan topa amb el [[HMS Dido (1784)|HMS ''Dido'']] i el [[HMS Lowestoffe (1761)|HMS ''Lowestoffe'']], en el decurs del combat el ''Minerve'' resulta capturat, però l'Artémise aconsegueix escapar. El seu capità és rellevat del comandament per deixar enrere el ''Minerve''.
 
El 1798 pren part de l'Expedició francesa a Egipte, enquadrat dins la flotilla francesa. A la [[Batalla del Nil]] l'[[HMS Orion (1787)|HMS ''Orion'']] i el [[HMS Theseus (1786)|HMS ''Theseus'']] el persegueixen; amb tota la seva bateria inutilitzada i sense capacitat operativa, els seus tripulants calen foc a la nau per evitar que caigui en mans del britànics.

She was under construction as ''Aurore'' in Toulon when the British seized the city. The French finished her after they retook her on 24 July 1794 and in September renamed her ''Artémise''.

On 23 June 1795, along with the 40-gun [[French frigate Minerve (1794)|''Minerve'']], she took part in an action against [[HMS Dido (1784)|HMS ''Dido'']] and [[HMS Lowestoffe (1761)|HMS ''Lowestoffe'']], escaping while ''Minerve'' was captured. Her captain was relieved of his command for leaving the ''Minerve''.
