Morfologia modifica

Reproducció modifica

És ovovivípar, esdevé sexualment madur quan arriba als 2 anys, fresa a l'estiu[1] i el mascle transporta els ous en una bossa ventral, la qual es troba a sota de la cua.[3][4]

Alimentació modifica

Menja crustacis petits i alevins.[5]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix marí i de clima temperat que viu fins als 30 m de fondària.[1]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba des del sud de Noruega i les Illes Britàniques[6][7][8] fins al Sàhara Occidental (Río de Oro).[1][9][10][11][12] [13]
