Aquesta fotografia és de domini públic a Itàlia ja que els drets han caducat. Les obres d'art fotogràfic estan protegides durant 70 anys després de la mort de l'artista (Art. 32 bis), mentre que les simples fotografies estan protegides per un període de 20 anys a partir de la creació.
Això pot no ser aplicable als països que no apliquen el termini de prescripció més curt a fotografies italianes. En particular, aquestes estan en el domini públic als Estats Units d'Amèrica només si:
no tenen drets d'autor als Estats Units pel fet que el dret d'autor va ser registrat allà (vegeuCommons:Copyright tags#United States per a més casos) i
va ser creada abans de 1976 —aleshores estava fora dels drets d'autor a Itàlia en base a la data URAA de la restauració (1 de gener de 1996) (17 U.S.C.§ 104A)— (en la majoria dels casos; per a tots els casos, veureTemplate:PD-Italy/US).
