| Descripció |
English: Vágur is a village on Suðuroy island in the Faroe Islands. This photo was taken on a path above the village (north of the village), with a view towards south to the center of the town and the harbour area and the fjord Vágsfjørður. On the other side of the fjord is the road to Lopra and Sumba etc. and the mountain Rávan. A part of the mountain Siglifelli is also visible (to the left on the photo). The grave yard is on the southern side of the fjord just above the red building which is Rock Trawldoors factory. The ship yard is on the northern side of the fjord. A few meters further west (to the right on the photo) is Hotel Bakkin, which is a hotel and restaurant (white building with light grey coloured roof).
Dansk: Vágur er en af de større bygder på Suðuroy (Suderø), som er den sydligste af Færøernes 18 øer. Her ses centrum af bygden samt fjorden og havnen. Bjerget Rávan ses på den anden side af fjorden.
Føroyskt: Vágur er ein bygd í Suðuroynni í Føroyum. Her sæst miðbýurin og havnalagið. Skipasmiðjan og Hotel Bakkin síggjast heilt niðri við sjógvin á norðaru síðu á fjørðinum. Á sunnaru síðu av Vágsfirði sæst vegurin til Lopra, Oyrarnar, pirurin, kirkjugarðurin og SEV verkið á Oyrunum. |
