  • Pot arribar a fer 20 cm de llargària màxima (normalment, en fa 10).[6][7]

Reproducció modifica

Té lloc entre l'hivern i la primavera a la mar Mediterrània.[8]

Alimentació modifica

Menja crustacis pelàgics.[6]

Depredadors modifica

A l'Estat espanyol és depredat per Ophichthus rufus.[9][10]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix marí i batidemersal.[6]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba a l'Atlàntic oriental: des del sud de la península Ibèrica fins al cap Blanc (Mauritània), incloent-hi la Mediterrània occidental.[6][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26]

Observacions modifica

És inofensiu per als humans.[6]
