És un peix marí de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall.[1]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba a l'Atlàntic occidental (des del sud de Florida i les Bahames[4] fins al nord de Sud-amèrica, incloent-hi el Brasil)[5] i l'Atlàntic oriental (el Camerun, Togo,[6] el Senegal[7] i São Tomé).[8][1][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]
