Morfologia modifica

Reproducció modifica

És ovípar[6] i les femelles ponen càpsules d'ous, les quals presenten com unes banyes a la closca.[7]

Alimentació modifica

Menja crustacis.[8]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes (65°N-34°S) que viu entre 450-1.568 m de fondària.[4][9]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba a l'oceà Atlàntic: el Canadà, les illes Fèroe, Islàndia, Mauritània, Namíbia i Sud-àfrica.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]

Costums modifica

És bentònic.[18]

Observacions modifica

És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
