Rhynchocypris poljakowii és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels ciprínids i a l'ordre dels cipriniformes.[2][3]

Etimologia modifica
Rhynchocypris deriva dels mots del grec antic ρύγχος (rhingchos, musell) i kypris (un altre nom de la deessa Afrodita, la qual hom suposava que era originària de Xipre -Κυπρίνος o kyprinos vol dir carpa-),[4] mentre que l'epítet poljakowii fa referència a l'explorador siberià J. S. Poljakow.[5]
Descripció modifica
Fa 10 cm de llargària màxima.[6]
Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica modifica
És un d'aigua dolça, bentopelàgic i de clima temperat (8 °C-20 °C),[7][8] el qual viu a Àsia:[1] el riu Ili[6][9] al Kazakhstan[6][10] i el Kirguizstan.[11][12][6][13][8]
Observacions modifica
És inofensiu per als humans[8] i el seu índex de vulnerabilitat és baix (20 de 100).[14]
