Fa 25 cm de llargària màxima[5] i presenta dimorfisme sexual.[6][7]

Reproducció modifica

És de fecundació interna[8] i vivípar.[9]

Alimentació modifica

El seu nivell tròfic és de 3,63.[10]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica modifica

És un peix marí i batidemersal (entre 100 i 300 m de fondària),[5] el qual viu al Pacífic[5] nord-occidental: des del Japó[11][5][12][13][14] fins al krai de Primórie (Rússia),[15][5][16][17] la mar d'Okhotsk,[18] la mar del Japó,[19][5][20][21] Corea del Nord[5][22] i Corea del Sud.[23][24][3][7][25]

És inofensiu per als humans[7] i el seu índex de vulnerabilitat és de moderat a alt (49 de 100)[26]
