Menja invertebrats bentònics.[2]
Hàbitat modifica
És un peix marí, de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 37-110 m de fondària.[2][4]
Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba des del Mar Roig (des d'on ha emigrat a la Mediterrània a través del Canal de Suez)[5][6][7] i l'Àfrica Oriental fins a Indonèsia, el sud del Japó i el nord d'Austràlia.[2][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34]
