Biografia modifica

Era fill de l'artista John Charles Dollman (1851–1934). Estudià a l'escola St Paul i seguidament al St John's College de Cambridge, on obtingué el seu Bachelor of Arts. Durant els seus estudis trobà feina al departament de zoologia del Museu d'Història Natural de Londres, on treballà sobretot com a conservador assistent dels mamífers.

El 1912, durant una expedició al Vietnam, descobrí i descrigué el rinopitec de Tonquín (Rhinopithecus avunculus). Emprengué viatges per a Lionel Walter Rothschild (1868-1937) i hi col·laborà en diverses publicacions, com ara New mammals from Dutch New Guinea (1932) i The Genus Dendrolagus (1936). Descrigué un gran nombre de noves espècies de mamífers.

Fou membre de la Societat Linneana de Londres.
