English: The image shows how stabilizing anthropogenic (i.e., human) emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) at present levels will not lead to stabilization of atmospheric concentrations of CO2. The graph on the left shows emissions of CO2 being stabilized at a constant level over time. The graph on the right shows what affect emissions stabilization has on the atmospheric concentration of CO2 over time. Atmospheric concentrations of CO2 continue to rise over time. |
