This is a working page to prepare the installation of {{Global infobox person}} in a wiki. It has 3 parts:

  1. a questionnaire to identify key aspects of the installation.
  2. a check list of modules and templates required by the Global infobox, to detect the missing ones and those that, despite existing, collide with those that need to be installed or do not functionally respond to what the Global infobox requires.
  3. a table with all the parameters used and their respective labels, in order to linguistically adjust the labels and, if applicable, the incorporation of parameters in the local language.

Availability

Installation may require to change or to adapt some templates or modules. Sometimes just renaming/redirect them; in other cases, changing code for another more comprehensive or full function.

This installation is for an infobox person. It is, the summary at side of articles of any case of biographies.

  • Are there any other infoboxes installed in your platform for this target?
  • If so, is it a unique infobox or a group of specialized infoboxes?
  • Are they highly used ?
  • Does it include access to Wikidata ?
  • Do you have a module:wikidata or similar used for infoboxes to get info from Wikidata? What's its name ?
  • Is it used in biographies infoboxes?
Migration

If preexistent infoboxes must be changed to the new one,

  • What will you do with preexistent infoboxes within articles?
  • Do they have manual parameters to keep active?

This is a list of all dependencies that Global infobox person has. Most of them are the main or specific templates and modules for this infobox. Note: The results are in function of language in preferences.

This table shows all the parameters that Global infobox person handles. The templates from first block (Pnnn) are able to get data from WD. The templates from the second block (M_xxxx) are manual parameters that don't exist in WD. Third block templates (L_xxxx and a few group of Pnnn) are exclusively oriented to generate labels not directly linked to value parameters. Last block templates (S_xxxx ones) are values for special customization.

what to do ?
  • The goal is to have a short, correct and translated value for labels in the right column (final result).
    • Ignore the lines with "Default Global" empty. They do not show labels in the infobox.
    • The easiest and fastest way is to adjust the local label shown in the third column (local lang..).
    • If it's not possible, you must inform the exception in fourth column (local exception). This information could be with a Qid that fits better than "default Global.." or with a wiki text.
