Certificació RIAA

certificacio de els vendas de l associacio americana de gravacions

Als Estats Units, la certificació de premis de la Recording Industry Association of America, basada en el nombre d'àlbums, senzills i vídeos, venuts a través dels mercats al detall i altres mercats auxiliars.[1] Altres països tenen premis semblants (vegeu certificació de vendes discogràfiques). La certificació no és automàtica; per a un premi ha ser entregat, el segell discogràfic ha de sol·licitar-ne la certificació.[2] L'auditoria es du a terme validant les vendes netes després dels retorns (s'utilitza més sovint declaració de drets d'un artista), que inclou discs venuts directament als minoristes, les vendes directes al consumidor (clubs de música i comandes per correu) i altres punts de venda.
