La part "Com podem evitar-ho?" conté afirmacions molt dubtoses ("major problema de la humanitat?"--> les pandèmies i les guerres clarament el superen). No hi ha neutralitat ni objectivitat, i manquen referències a afirmacions tant agosarades. Frase sense gaire sentit

Té sentit la frase: creen un efecte hivernacle natural sense les quals la temperatura de la Terra seria 30 °C més baixa, inhabitable? La mitjana de la temperatura a la Terra és de 15 graus, si fos de 30 graus menys seria de -15 graus. Hi ha regions on viuen constantment a -10 o -20 graus, amb certs pics de fins a -50 graus; la temperatura mínima mai registrada s'acosta als -93 graus; de debò amb una mitjana de -15 graus seria inhabitable? Això sense tenir en compte el gran nombre d'espècies que poden viure a baixes temperatures, incloent-hi bacteris i altres éssers vius.--Darth (disc.) 23:42, 14 juny 2016 (CEST)

Cross-wiki review: suggested edits

Apologies for posting in English (I do understand Spanish if that is a better language to talk in) As part of a cross-wiki review of climate change articles, I've had a look at the Catalan version. I have a few suggested edits:

• The word theory means something else in science than for a general public (see https://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/darwin/evolution-today/what-is-a-theory). I suggest dropping the word to avoid confusion.
• Now that the debate about the cause of climate change is completely settled, we should not give undue weight to extreme minority positions. Many of the points are not supported by any climate scientists anymore. Consider deleted the section "Teoria de les causes no antropogèniques", or condensing it.
  • An example of a paragraph that is highly outdated: "S'han publicat alguns reports climatològics i geogràfics que pretenen demostrar que les capes de gel d'Islàndia i Grenlàndia han crescut els últims vint anys, així com la capa de gel de l'Antàrtica,[20] la qual cosa suggereix que els models climatològics són molt més complexos del que es pensava i que depèn de molts més variables que no pas les activitats antropogèniques. Aquest grup de científics també argumenten que l'increment de les temperatures ha estat localitzat només a algunes regions mentre que a altres les temperatures han mostrat un declivi considerable els últims anys[21] i que per tant no es tracta d'un fenomen global.   • Incorrect: "Gràfica que mostra l'activitat solar; s'observa que coincideix amb els canvis de la temperatura". There is only a very weak correlation between solar activity and temperature. Pre-industrial temperatures correlate better with volcanic forcing.
• I think " Un estudi del 2020 estimà que pel 2070 entre mil i tres mil milions de persones es quedarien fora de les zones amb condicions climàtiques per a viure-hi" is not a good representation of the source. The paper described it as "1 to 3 billion people are projected to be left outside the climate conditions that have served humanity well over the past 6,000 y"

I agree with all your suggestions except the first one: I think a proper explanation of what "theory" means in a scientific context would serve our readers better than simply expunging the word from our science articles.—Leptictidium (digui) 10:43, 12 des 2021 (CET)

That works too. I was mostly concerned with calling both the actual theory (humans cause it), and refuted hypotheses (natural causes) a "theory". Femkemilene (disc.) 10:48, 12 des 2021 (CET)

@Femkemilene: I've already implemented the proposed changes. Hopefully no-one will object, but it seems unlikely because the pseudoscientific stuff was added way back, in 2006 (I only recently added this article to my watchlist), by a user who hasn't edited in years.
