My Great Predecessors: diferència entre les revisions

El periodista d'escacs Dmitry Plisetsky l'ha ajudat amb els llibres, i en Kaspàrov agraeix també d'altres jugadors als prefacis de cadascun dels volums. Els llibres foren traduïts a l'anglès per en Ken Neat. Cada volum té un índex dels jugadors protagonistes de les partides, i un altre de les [[obertures d'escacs|obertures]] usades a les partides. Originalment foren publicats en mides de coberta de 9.9" a 7.2" (25 cm a 18 cm) per [[Everyman Chess]] començant el 2003. Moltes còpies dels llibres contenen etiquetes autografiades pel propi Kaspàrov.

 

Five volumes of ''My Great Predecessors'' were written:

* Part I starts with a chapter about some of the unofficial world champions (before 1886) in which [[Adolf Anderssen]] and [[Paul Morphy]] get the most coverage. Then it covers the first four official world champions: [[Wilhelm Steinitz]], [[Emanuel Lasker]], [[José Raúl Capablanca]], and [[Alexander Alekhine]].

The ''Modern Chess'' series covers [[chess opening]] developments in the 1970s, all of Kasparov's five [[World Chess Championship|World Championship]] matches with Karpov, and his other games with Karpov.

* ''Part I: 1973-1985'' This volume covers 100 games starting from his early days. It ends with a few of the games from his 1984 match with Karpov (the endings only).

* ''Part II: 1985-1993'' The period of being the [[FIDE]] world champion.
