Descripció modifica

  • Pot arribar a fer 6 cm de llargària màxima.
  • 7 espines i 9 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 2 espines i 12-13 radis tous a l'anal.
  • És de color blanc o rosat translúcid, platejat al cap i a l'abdomen.[6]

Depredadors modifica

A Austràlia és depredat per Synodus englemani.[7][8]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix marí, associat als esculls costaners[9] i de clima tropical (32°N-12°S) que viu entre 3 i 13 m de fondària entre els coralls i les roques de les llacunes.[6][10]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba des de l'Àfrica Oriental[11][12] fins a les illes Marshall,[13] Nova Guinea, el Japó[14] i el nord d'Austràlia,[15][16] incloent-hi el mar d'Arafura.[17][6][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51]
