Bathymyrus és un gènere de peixos marins pertanyent a la família dels còngrids i a l'ordre dels anguil·liformes.[1][2]

Etimologia modifica

Bathymyrus prové dels mots grecs bathys (profund) i myros, -ou (el mascle del peix anomenat morena).[3]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba a l'Índic[4] (la desembocadura del riu Limpopo a Moçambic,[5][6] el corrent Agulhas,[5][7] el mar d'Aràbia,[8] Oman,[9][10] el Pakistan[9][11] i l'Índia)[9][12] i el Pacífic occidental[13] (Indonèsia,[14][15] el mar de la Xina Oriental,[16][17] el mar de la Xina Meridional,[18][19] el Vietnam[20][21] i les illes Pescadors[22][23] a Taiwan).[24][25]
