Als Estats Units és depredat per Merluccius albidus.^[8]^[9]

És un peix d'aigües profundes que viu entre 610-1370 m de fondària.^[5]^[10]

Distribució geogràficaModifica

Es troba al Golf de Mèxic, el Carib,^[11] la costa nord-oriental de Sud-amèrica, el Marroc, les Illes Canàries i Portugal (incloent-hi les Illes Açores).^[5]^[12]^[13]^[14]^[15]

ObservacionsModifica

És capturat conjuntament amb l'espècie de gamba Pleoticus robustus.^[5]
