Distribució geogràfica modifica
Es troba des de la conca de la Mar Negra al nord de Turquia i Àsia Menor (conques dels rius Tigris i Eufrates) fins al riu Iang-tsé (Xina), el subcontinent indi, Indoxina i Indonèsia (Java).[2]
