Es troba a l'Índic occidental[3] (el golf d'Aden,[3][4] el Iemen,[5][6] el golf d'Oman,[3][7] Oman,[3][8] el mar d'Aràbia,[3][9][10] el sud-oest de l'Índia[3][11] i, probablement també, les illes Seychelles)[12][13] i el Pacífic occidental[14] (el Japó[15][16][17][18][19][20] -des de la badia de Sagami fins Amami Oshima,[21] una de les illes Amami a la prefectura de Kagoshima,[22] i les illes Ryukyu[15][23]-, la mar Groga,[24] la Xina,[25][26][27] Taiwan[28] -incloent-hi les illes Pescadors[29][30]-, el mar de la Xina Meridional,[31][32] el mar de Banda[33][34] i Indonèsia).[33][35]
