Descripció modifica

  • Pot arribar a fer 9 cm de llargària màxima.
  • El seu color varia entre el marró rogenc i el groguenc.
  • Té una línia obliqua i negre a sota de l'ull.
  • Pot presentar tres franges als flancs.
  • 8 espines i 9 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 2 espines i 8 radis tous a l'anal.[5][6][7]

Hàbitat modifica

És un peix marí, associat als esculls[8] i de clima tropical que viu entre 0-12 m de fondària.[5][9]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba a Austràlia,[10][11] Hong Kong,[12] Indonèsia, Israel, el Japó,[13] Oman, Palau, Papua Nova Guinea,[14] les illes Filipines,[15] l'Aràbia Saudita, les Seychelles,[16] Sud-àfrica, Taiwan[17] i el Vietnam.[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27]

Observacions modifica

És inofensiu per als humans i de costums nocturns.[5]
