Japonoconger és un gènere de peixos marins pertanyent a la família dels còngrids i a l'ordre dels anguil·liformes.[2][3]

Etimologia modifica

Japonoconger es compon de les paraula Japó i del mot llatí conger (congre).[4]

Distribució geogràfica modifica

Es troba a l'Atlàntic occidental central (les costes caribenyes de Colòmbia[5][6] i Veneçuela),[6][7] l'Atlàntic oriental[8][9] (des del Gabon[10] fins a la República del Congo,[11] incloent-hi els corrents de Benguela[12] i Guinea,[13] i, possiblement també, Namíbia)[14][15][16] i el Pacífic nord-occidental (el Japó).[17][18][19]
